Job Description

SUPERVISOR wanted to plan, organize, and supervise the work. We have approximately sixty employees in the Joliette region. The functions will be to ensure compliance with health and safety standards, quality control and productivity, all focussing on achieving the targeted objectives, as well as the management of large-scale projects (Ex: planned shutdowns, special projects). It will also be necessary to travel within a radius of 40 km between our different customers in the day or evening.

Main Responsabilities
  • Communicate regularly with the client to negotiate, bid, respond to their questions and requests.
  • Establish human and material resource needs based on work and projects and ensure that requests are forwarded to the planner.
  • Inform and mobilize employees on occupational health and safety topics and ensure compliance with work methods through a sustained presence in the field. (ART, task observation, OHS meetings, audit, etc.).
  • Inform team members of client requests and changes to work.
  • Supervise the work and assist the members of the team (Supervision, support, training and coaching of employees).
  • Inform management of the progress of ongoing projects and document them using an administrative form, ensuring the accuracy of the information. (Service report, time sheet, SST, task observation, follow-up of floor interventions, etc.).
  • Ensure the quality of the work and ensure that the nature of the work meets customer requirements.
  • Track departmental employee timesheets.
  • Evaluate the performance and progress of site personnel and ensure that they have the required knowledge and skills related to the position.
  • Participate in several meetings or committees. Align management decisions with the organization's master plan and ensure that these processes are followed by the teams.
  • Ensure control of results (projects -vs- bids).
  • See to the improvement of work methods and management processes.
  • Ensure the disciplinary aspect of the team.
Required Skills
  • Professional diploma (DEP) in industrial mechanics or significant experience in the workplace,
  • Additional training in supervision or personnel management (an asset),
  • 8 to 15 years of supervisory experience in an industrial setting,
  • Staff management skills,
  • Ability to estimate costs and bid,
  • Good analytical and planning skills,
